Spode is one of Britain’s leading dinnerware brands, founded in Stoke-on-Trent in 1770. Its traditional ornate designs now extend to placemats and coasters, including the iconic Blue Italian collection, the festive Christmas Tree range and now some of the elegant Spode Morris & Co designs inspired by the celebrated patterns of William Morris.

Founded in Stoke-on-Trent in 1770, Spode is one of Britain’s best known names in the world of dinner and tableware, with a history that goes back more than 250 years. Spode is probably most well known for the Blue Italian collection which was first introduced in 1816 and is immediately recognisable with the distinctive blue and white floral design.

Spode’s traditional patterns are now available across a popular collection of placemats and coasters, bringing the classic decorative style to everyday dining and helping to protect dining tables across the UK from heat, spills and scratches. Alongside the timeless Blue Italian range is the Christmas Tree design, which has become a favourite for table settings over the festive season.

Spode also produces some of the Morris & Co placemats and coasters designs that have been inspired by William Morris and the Arts and Crafts movement. Together, these collections combine Spode’s British traditional styling with the modern world requirements of practical table accessories suited to both traditional and contemporary kitchen or dining rooms.
