Royal Botanic Gardens Kew history
The Royal Botanic Gardens Kew in south west London is home to an enormous collection of rare and exotic plants which have been collected over the years from all around the world. This has led Kew Gardens to build up a world class reputation in the study and preservation of all types of plants and as a consequence the institution now plays an important part in the study and understanding of the role plants play in protecting our environment.
Since the early 18th century Kew Gardens has grown an extensive collection of illustrations and artworks that are not just pleasing to the eye, but they accurately capture the details of the flora and fauna found in every corner of the world.

This massive collection of paintings and Illustrations which is preserved at the Kew Gardens library includes many contributions from scientists and botanists of the Victorian era. They are also a testament to the attention to detail of the artists and scientists involved in how they capture every intricate aspect of the plant life they were drawing.

The Kew Gardens collection consists of floral table mats and coasters made from mdf and a soft cork backed base that will protect your furniture from heat and scratches. The top of the table mats is rigid and has a durable lacquer surface with a matt effect finish which is easy to maintain as they just to need to be wiped clean with a damp cloth.
