Plymouth Pottery Placemats
Cork backed placemats from Plymouth Pottery
Makers of traditional high quality cork backed placemats, Plymouth Pottery is a family company based in England. Although producing primarily cork backed placemats as well as stylish drinks coasters, Plymouth Pottery also make a range of melamine placemats for the catering industry.
Noted for their range of modern placemats such as the Majestic tablemats, Plymouth Pottery also have a wide range of traditional cork backed placemats like White Poppies tablemats through to animal themes such as the Hungry Cats place mats design.
Popular placemats designs
A popular design of cork backed placemats that Plymouth Pottery produces is the Cafe Scene placemats featuring an Italian street view, possibly Venice as the design depicts a classic restaurant alongside a canal in the middle of a city.
The cork backed Plymouth Pottery placemats are made for the UK market and are the standard UK placemats size of 29.2cm x 21.6cm (11.5 x 8.5 inches). The tablemats all have hardboard centres made of wood from renewable sources and comply with the strictest environmental standards of production. The Plymouth place mats are supplied in the traditional presentation box format with a cellophane see-through lid which makes them ideal for gift giving.
Durable cork backed placemats
The Plymouth Pottery placemats are made with a hardboard centre and a cork backed base, with the top surface finished a very hard lacquer over the printed design. This durable lacquer surface makes the tablemats heat resistant to 110C. The advantages of the cork base is that cork is both durable and relatively soft, making it the perfect solution for protecting the surface of your table.
The basic premise behind Plymouth placemats is that they protect your dining table from scratches and scuffs as well as spilled liquids and heat from plates. At the same time as protecting your table the placemats provide an aesthetically pleasing design to match and enhance your dining room or kitchen.
