For anyone looking to buy round coasters there are a limited number of design options to choose from. Even the popular Pimpernel range of placemats and coasters currently only has one design available of round coasters, the Botanic Garden floral pattern. This pattern matches the extremely popular Botanic Garden tableware range which includes all sorts of accessories for the kitchen and dining room. The collection includes square coasters as a set of six and now is supplied with the addition of a set of four round coasters.

This is currently the only design of cork backed round coaster to buy from Pimpernel. If you are looking to buy round coasters, then it might be necessary to look at some other options if the floral Botanic Garden pattern is not what you are looking for.

In theory round coasters should me more practical than either square or rectangular coaster sets. There are various reasons for this, but mainly because most drinks glasses or coffee mugs are round in shape and would fit naturally on a round coaster. One of the main factors will be the method of production, where large sheets of cork and wood are cut into individual coasters and square uses up all of the material whereas round would lead to a greater amount of wastage in the production process.
